Healthy Aging Workshops

CLC offers a four-part workshop series called Connections for Healthy Aging through local churches, senior centers, and other organizations like Openhouse and the Hearing and Speech Center of Northern California. Since the program began in 2012, we have hosted workshops in partnership with:

  • Dept. of Aging and Adult Services
  • NCPHS — 1280 Laguna Senior Apartments
  • Openhouse
  • Curry Senior Center
  • Western Addition Senior Center
  • St. Francis Episcopal Church
  • Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church / Bayview Neighborhood
  • The Hearing and Speech Center of Northern California
  • San Francisco Village

The workshops are a great way for people to meet in a small group, explore issues around aging, prepare for health emergencies, strengthen their support network, and learn to advocate for themselves and others. Our sfhealthyaging.org blog has links to many of the resources that participants use during the workshops.

We've already reached over 300 people through these workshops, and are now partnering with CARA (California Alliance for Retired Americans) to expand the program throughout the state.
